"Two Kennels ~ One Philosophy"

We believe in a strong working ability in a bullmastiff. All of our dogs train and compete in conformation, obedience and agility. We even have one dog with a herding title. The bullmastiff is a family dog. They should be involved in the family activities and are all housedogs. They do not do well in a "kennel" environment. We do breed on a limited basis based on a reservation list. We only breed a litter to improve the breed and for a puppy that we are personally in search of. We strive to stay within the AKC standard of the bullmastiff and still keep in mind the importance of the working ability of the dogs. Health is another important part of breeding bullmastiffs. All of our dogs have had the following tests done before they are used in a breeding program: OFA, Penn Hip, Thyroid, Cerf. Blood Profile and Heart. Bullmastiffs have serious health problems and it is a goal of ours to try to eliminate as many problems that we are able to. This does not mean that all puppies are free of health defects but that we are breeding only the healthiest dogs possible.

Renee Aldrich is the originator of Ashlock Bullmastiffs; her niece, Brooke Hummel, assists her. Vicki Allenbrand established Blackjack Bullmastiffs. Between the two of us (Renee and Vicki), we have over 25 years experience with Bullmastiffs. We both started with other breeds which gives us 40 more years experience in the various breeds such as dalmatians, dobermans, gsd's and weim's. Renee’s background is in the obedience and agility rings, she introduced us to the Bullmastiff, a breed we both fell in love with from the start. Our first bullmastiffs, Tessa and McCloud, were littermates. We completed their championships, while working in the obedience and agility rings with both. Thus, beginning our intense desire to keep the working ability alive in our breeding of the Bullmastiff. We have both completed multiple titles in conformation, obedience and agility on our dogs, as well as, assisting other owners in training and obtaining their titles. Renee Aldrich owns K9 Manners & More located in Kansas, an obedience and agility training business for private and group training. In addition, she has produced a video on fun training with your dog, called "Amazing Trick Training" (see the website at www.amazingtricks.com). Vicki has had top ranked dogs in obedience, agility and conformation. She has been nominated to judge sweepstakes at a Bullmastiff Specialty event, which is a great honor. This is proof of her strong studies in the proper conformation when breeding, handling and showing a dog.  Vicki also serves on the board as Vice President of the Atlanta Kennel Club, one of the largest kennel clubs in the country.  She is currently working towards her judging license.
